The MBCP childbirth classes include:
Nine weekly, 2.5 hour sessions
A full day of meditation practice
A post-delivery reunion of class participants
The book, Mindful Birthing, by Nancy Bardacke
Recordings of guided meditations by Nancy Bardacke
Topics covered:
A variety of mindfulness meditation practices
Communication skill of attentive listening
Physiology of pregnancy, labor, and birth
Breastfeeding physiology and newborn care
Positions for labor that aid in comfort and facilitate the physiological process
Techniques to use in supporting a laboring partner or friend
Ice “contractions” as practice for working with strong sensations
Yoga poses that promote flexibility, strength, and endurance
Mindfulness attitudes
How much does the program cost?
Mindful Birthing NOLA’s MBCP class series costs $250 and includes all materials. A partner or support person is welcome free of charge.
Do you offer financial assistance?
Mindful Birthing NOLA offers a limited number of scholarships during each term. If you are in need of financial assistance, please ask us about our scholarship options in your initial inquiry.
How do I sign up?
To sign up for a class, we ask that you email our instructor, Esther DeJong, to discuss your interest in the program, your due date, if you will have a partner join in on the sessions, and allow us to get a feel for your needs before registering for the course.

What is the facility like?
To protect the health and well-being of you and your family in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, all class meetings at this time are virtual. We hope to have in-person classes when it becomes safe again to do so.
